Salvador Dali Museum Article tri-fold
Back in 2019, I visited the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, FL.
I was not familiar with more than just the few famous paintings that Dali had done, so the experience was very surreal.

When I had completed the article, it really had no place to be read.
It was accepted by my art history teacher as an example for future classes to use as a template in short-essay writing; for which I was extremely pleased. However, it was not until I attended Platt in March of 2020 that I was given a chance to build it into a tri-fold article. This was my first illustrated article project to have attempted. It was also during my first class at the new school, Typography with Ed Boretz.

Previously, I had no background in illustrating. It was only during my engineering and drafting classes at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University that I had taken up drawing using the iPad app, Procreate. For the Dali illustration I used brushes and blur to obscure the face of Dali and enlarge it over a gradient of pink and greys.

With Adobe inDesign, I created text boxes and layered in different photos and shapes to stimulate the reader. InDesign had an excellent control over the text boxes. It handled the kearning and line spacing very well. I submitted this project within the guidlines of the class, however, there are about two more pages to the essay.

Should the opportunity present itself, I would love to complete another article. I have little time to complete these types of projects as a hobby, but I have wanted to write a Tri-Fold article about the original “Bladerunner” film, along with supporting illustrations.
